I always find Tobia Rava's work very interesting.
I stop by Galleria d' Arte L'Occhio to
see what he's been painting in the months since my last visit.

Here is a link to Tobia's website.

Venetian artist Zacaria......

Elena Bussolin goes by the name....ZACARIA. Her little shop on the calle that runs beside La Fenice....Calle della Fenice....is always an annual stop.
I love her wonderfully loose and lyrical watercolors.
Over the years she has adorned a variety of objects with her whimsical images....from her wooden picture frames to notebooks and postcards.

Every year she has something new....this year she had wonderful tassels with blown glass beads...they are 8" long....not sure exactly what I'm going to do with them...but they are treasures I couldn't resist! While I was visiting this year, a lovely Venetian lady of years was buying a few more to fill in her hand. Zacaria mentioned that the lady was using them to hang on doors.....I wonder how many doors she has? I wonder which palazzo they are adorning......

Zacaria's little shop is a treasure chest of delights......well worth a stop.
Reasonable prices are a bonus!!

Nicola Tenderini - Venetian painter

(My sister Gail & Nicola)

Every year I stop into Nicola's tiny studio near the Rialto Bridge to buy a new calendar.
I love to see his latest version of the months of the year. He also has notebooks, bookmarkers, notecards and other great inexpensive gifts.
His calendars are watercolors.....but take a look at his fabulous oil paintings too.
Just make sure you come in the morning....he's only open til 1pm.
(Closed on Sundays....Rialto Mercato vaporetto stop)
Check out Nicola's website.

Rosario Morra

(above -notecards)

Rosario Morrra....I discovered his work in Venice at the Scriba Gallery.
Amazing images...millions of dots....
intriguing.
Last year I finally broke down and made a purchase...it's the one on the top.
"Piccola natura morta con la Piazzetta", 2010. China e olio su tavola cm. 13,9 x 11

Marina & Fabio, the owners of Scriba are a delightful couple...very excited about the
artists they represent. On more than one occasion while in the gallery, I've met
artists that just stop by for a quick kiss/espresso or both!

They also carry journals, notecards, prints and bookmarkers etc....so if you can't
afford an original you don't have to walk away empty-handed.
